Hardy scoops NetComm PR role

NetComm recently welcomed man-of-many-talents, Matthew Hardy, as its  new public relations manager, a role Hardy has held since the end of  October on a part time basis.

Hardy joins NetComm after  moving from the marketing department of engineering and project  management firm Sinclair Knight Merz. He juggles his part time PR role  at NetComm with tutoring external students of digital media at Charles  Sturt University, and students of middle eastern politics at Deakin  University, and has also taught politics at Macquarie University.

In  his new role, Hardy plans to build NetComm's profile across a variety  of media sectors including the construction, engineering and property  development press, and said he's looking forward to finally getting his  head around the large range of NetComm's products and services.

"The  recent launch of NetComm’s NetAssure remotely managed network service  is perhaps the most intriguing item I have on my agenda," said Hardy.  "This marks NetComm’s venture away from being a pure hardware supplier  and into the role of service provider. NetAssure is the right product  at the right time, since it can assist with many of the security and  content filtering issues that have been greatly discussed in the media  of late."

Hardy's background also includes television and  online media production, and he said his longest stint in the industry  was with Beyond Productions where he worked on the Beyond 2000 TV show  and website.

"All my roles have had writing as a core  duty and I have at times earned my crust as a freelance journalist and  advertising copywriter," added Hardy.

Hardy also hooked  up with Monash University this year to commence his PhD on  collaborative content tools (eg Wikipedia) and its potential in  tertiary teaching of humanities subjects.
