How can NetAssure help?
NetAssure is a combined software and hardware that works by combining equipment at the user’s location with a remote Network Operations Centre (NOC). Similar to the way in which pay TV companies install a box in your home, the NetAssure equipment is set up by a certified installer. Access is then provided through a cost-effective monthly subscription. Individual configuration is undertaken by the user through a simple interface, designed with the non-IT professional in mind. Once the simple installation process has taken place, a business is then up and running with its own Virtual Private Network (VPN), using the reach of the public Internet as a secure and confidential business tool.
In addressing the PCI DSS criteria, NetAssure will fully satisfy compliance in the following areas:
- Firewall
- Non-default system passwords and other security parameters
- Encrypted data transmission across open, public networks
- Develop and maintain secure systems and applications
- Restricted access to cardholder data on a need to know basis
- Track and monitor all access to network resources and cardholder data
Additionally, NetAssure assists in complying with points #8 (Assign a unique ID to each person with computer access) and #11 (Regularly test security systems and processes). Some aspects of these points and the remaining three out of the 12 are dependent however on merchants developing and applying their own policy and cultural changes.
